At 10am on October 30, Tony Q.S. Quek, Distinguished Professor of Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), was invited to give a lecture on the application of machine learning in the field of wireless communication to the teachers and students of the Intelligent Network and Computing Lab. The topic of this talk focuses on the efficiency of machine learning in complex computation and how to improve federated learning efficiency.

Professor Tony shared his research results in the field of communication and computer science in the lecture, emphasizing the important role of machine learning in wireless communication. He introduces the general architecture of federated learning, model training algorithms, and quantitative analysis framework of convergence rate. This study covers multiple aspects of federated learning, data heterogeneity, and learning efficiency based on distributed wireless networks, showing students a scenario where wireless communication and machine learning are combined.

After the lecture, Professor Tony had an in-depth discussion with the teachers and students present to discuss the challenges and future development direction of the wireless communication field. Everyone spoke up and shared their opinions. The event provided attendees with a valuable opportunity to learn about the frontiers of wireless communication.
