Location Computing Innovation Laboratory


On the afternoon of July 31, Fudan University and China Tower Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Tower) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish the Location Computing Innovation Laboratory.

According to the agreement, both parties will establish a long-term, stable, and sustainable industry-university-research cooperation relationship, working together to create a successful example of industry-academia collaboration. They will jointly build an innovation platform and establish the Location Computing Innovation Laboratory to focus on frontier fields, with special joint teams working to continuously deepen organized and effective industry-university-research cooperation. The collaboration will promote industry-education integration, focusing on strategic emerging fields such as blockchain, edge computing, and low-altitude economy, conducting both fundamental and applied research to promote the transformation of scientific achievements.

The partnership also aims to cultivate top-tier talent by establishing a stable talent exchange mechanism. This includes internship and practical training bases, joint academic courses, assigning off-campus mentors, and providing educational services to jointly nurture future leaders in the industry. Additionally, the parties will share resources for development, leveraging advantages in talent, funding, and equipment to support collaboration projects and further advance the digital and informational development of the campus.



Fudan University Party Secretary Qiu Xin and China Tower Party Secretary and Chairman Zhang Zhiyong delivered speeches. They were joined by Fudan University's Executive Vice President Xu Zheng and China Tower General Manager Chen Li to witness the signing ceremony. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University Assistant President, and Director of the Research Institute Peng Huisheng, along with China Tower Vice General Manager Zhao Jingbao, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.



The unveiling of the Location Computing Innovation Laboratory will serve the construction of the national communication infrastructure system, foster the development of new types of productive forces, and accelerate the upgrade of information communication, artificial intelligence, and computing power infrastructure systems through deeper sharing of China Tower's site resources and theoretical research and system innovation in space-air-ground integrated networks.
