Professor Shen is a globally renowned scholar in the field of communication networks, with a long-standing commitment to research on wireless communication networks, particularly on key technologies for the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). He has made pioneering contributions by proposing novel theories and technologies for IoV medium access and overcoming critical challenges in IoV security and privacy protection. His work has significantly advanced the development and industrial application of IoV technologies, earning him exceptional international reputation and industry influence.
Professor Shen has authored 27 books and published over 600 academic journal papers. He has received 44 best paper awards from prestigious international journals and top-tier conferences. Recognized as a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher, he is one of the most-cited authors in the field of wireless communication networks according to Google Scholar.
For his groundbreaking contributions to IoV, Professor Shen has received several distinguished awards, including the James Evans Avant Garde Award from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the R.A. Fessenden Award for innovative network protocols from IEEE Canada, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the IEEE Wireless Communications Technical Committee. He has also won numerous international academic honors.
In addition to his research achievements, Professor Shen has served as a member of the IEEE Communications Society’s Executive Committee, Chair of the Wireless Communications Committee, and General Chair, Area Chair, and Technical Program Chair of leading conferences such as ACM Mobihoc and IEEE Infocom. He has also been the Editor-in-Chief for several prestigious international journals, including those published by IEEE, IET, and Springer.
